The rains have slowed the racing down, but not Drew!! Wednesday June 11 was a USAC record day of 6 features run at one show at the ¼ mile high banks of Anderson Speedway. Due to rainouts, the Regional, Focus and Kenyon Midgets all ran two features on this night, one scheduled and one as a makeup up for an earlier rainout.

Drew blasted out of the gate with a heat race win tonight starting from the outside front row, immediately putting the Century 21 Master Key Realty/Mid America Properties/Aluma Trailers/Impact Racing/Amsoil Lubricants Yamaha powered Kenyon in the front by making an outside pass to lead every lap. With the invert this set up a 5th place starting position for feature #1. Due to a blown Regional midget motor oiling down the track all the way around the bottom groove, there was no passing to be done in this 25 lap feature and Drew ended up in the same position he started, 5th.

The second feature of the night for the Kenyon Midgets was a different story as the 6 top finishers of the first feature were inverted with Drew starting on the outside front row. After bolting out to a quick lead by passing on the outside in turn one and two, the move was negated by a three car pileup and a complete restart in single file. At the drop of the green flag the race was fast and furious for the lead as Drew pressed #14 Dillon Welch every way he could trying to take the lead. After a couple more yellows, Drew found a way beside the #14 on lap 12 where the two young drivers put on a side-by-side driving clinic for nearly 3 laps.Drew finally came out the victor and pulled away to a 6 car length win! This was Drew’s second win in the last four starts sandwiched with a 2nd and a 5th place finish. This win moved Drew into second place in championship points within one point of the lead!
